How To Setup Ivacy VPN PPTP Protocol Manually on Ubuntu 14.04
 

Before you begin, please make sure that:

  • You must have an active internet connection
  • A Premium Ivacy VPN account. If you haven’t subscribed yet, click here to subscribe for Ivacy VPN

Follow below mentioned steps to setup Ivacy PPTP protocol manually on Ubuntu Linux:

  1. Open Network Settings, hover mouse on “VPN Connections” and click on “Configure VPN…”. Configure VPN on Ubuntu Linux

  3. Click dropdown menu to select desired connection type. Configure Ivacy on Ubuntu
  4. Under VPN select “Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP)”. PPTP Protocol on Ubuntu
  5. In “Connection name” field you can type any name like ‘Ivacy PPTP’. In “Gateway” field, type or paste your desired server name (the list of all server addresses can be found here). Enter your “email” in the username and password the you chose at the time of registration, and click on “Advanced..” button.

  6. In “Authentication”, remove check from “EAP”. In “Security and Compression” select ‘Use Point-to-Point encryption (MPPE)’, ‘Allow BSD data compression’, ‘Allow Deflate data compression’, and ‘Use TCP header compression. Now click “OK”. Configure Ivacy VPN on Ubuntu
  7. Now save settings and close the window.

  8. Open Network Settings, hover mouse on “VPN Connections” and click on “Ivacy PPTP”. Connect Ivacy on UbuntuYou are connected. Enjoy Privacy with Ivacy.Note: If your connection fails, Please uncheck ‘Use Point-to-Point encryption (MPPE)’ option as a shown in step 6
