Setup Ivacy VPN on Debian Linux

Step 1

On the command line, type the following command, to #install PPTP software

apt-get install pptp-linux

 

Step 2

Edit /etc/ppp/chap-secrets. Type the following command:

vi /etc/ppp/chap-secrets

 

Step 3

Now, type the following command:

Email PPTP Password *

(for email, you should use your Ivacy email; and for password, you should use your Ivacy VPN password)

 

Step 4

#create /etc/ppp/peers/ivacy-us7 with the following command:

vi /etc/ppp/peers/ivacy-us7

add the following commands:

pty "pptp us7.ivacyvpn.net --nolaunchpppd"
name
email
remotename PPTP
file /etc/ppp/options.pptp
require-mppe-128
refuse-eap noauth

To add a route to the routing table

 

Step 5

In order to automatically add a new entry, whenever Ivacy VPN connection is established, you must create and edit the following command:

/etc/ppp/ip-up.d/pure-us7-route

and change it to:

vi /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/pure-us7-route  

 

Step 6

Add the following command:

#!/bin/bash

route add -net 10.0.0.0/8 dev ppp0

 

Step 7

To make the file executable, type the following command:

chmod +x /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/pure-us7-route

 

Step 8

Connect Ivacy VPN with the following command

pppd call ivacy-us7

Now, you are connected to Ivacy VPN. Enjoy privacy with Ivacy VPN.

 

Step 9

To check the logs, type the following command:

tail -f /var/log/messages
