How to Solve Error 720 Remote Computer Could not be Established

The corrupted Wan Miniports are causing Error 720 for some Windows users. If you are getting this error, here is what you need to do:
Procedure 1: Reinstall WAN Miniport Adapters
- Exit Ivacy VPN.
- Go to Control panel > System > Device Manager.
- Open Network devices.
- Uninstall All WAN Miniport, VPN Client Adapter.
- Once done, from top click Scan of Hardware changes. It will populate with new WAN Miniport adapters.
- Launch the application as an Administrator.
- You will now be able to connect with RAS protocols (L2TP and IKEv2).
Procedure 2: Reset TCP IP Protocol
- Try resetting TCP IP protocol by entering following command in Command Prompt:
• netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt - Now reboot your system and reconnect Ivacy VPN. If it does not solve the problem, then try the next procedure.
Procedure 3: Reset Network
- Open Control Panel, then open Add Remove Programs and go to Windows components. Uncheck networking.
- Now restart your computer.
- Repeat step 1 and check networking
- Open the “Command” window by typing ‘cmd’ in “Run”. Type the following command and press “Enter”:
• netsh int ip reset.log - Now enter the following command and press “Enter”:
• ipconfig / flushdns
Procedure 4: Reinstall Mini Ports
Step 1: Create a Restore Point
Creating a Restore Point in Windows 7:
- Open “Computer” Properties from “Start Menu”, then open “System”.
- Open the “System Protection” tab from the left pane. Enter administrator username and password if required.
- Open the “System Protection” tab from the top navigation bar and click “Create”.
- In the dialog box, type a relevant description and click “Create”.
Creating a Restore Point in Windows 8:
- Press “Windows key” + “F” and type for ‘Create Restore’ in the search box.
- Now click on “Files” above the search box and select “Settings” from the drop-down menu.
- Now click “Create a Restore Point”.
- Open the “System Protection” tab from the top navigation bar and click “Create”.
- In the dialog box, type a relevant description and click “Create”.
Step 2:Uninstall non-working miniports
- Before removing non-working mini ports, note them at a safe place. You will need this later.
- Now follow the below-mentioned procedure:
- Open “Device Manager” (Windows 8: right-click on the bottom left side of the screen and select “Device Manager”, Windows 7: Open “Computer Properties” and click on “Device Manager”)
- Now click “View” and select “Show Hidden Devices”
- Click on “Network adapters”. Now right click on non-working Miniports and click on “Update Driver”.
- Click “Browse my computer”.
- In the new window, select “Let me pick driver from a list”.
- Remove the check from “Show compatible hardware”. Select “Microsoft” from the Manufacturer list and “MAC Bridge Miniport” from “Network Adapter”. (It can be any device you have rights to uninstall)
- Now, switch to “Device Manager” or open it if you have closed, delete the device “MAC Bridge Miniport”.
- Once done removing the bad miniports, reboot.
Step 3:Reinstall Miniports
- Download Devcon.exe Click Here and extract it in C: drive.
- Now, Open Command prompt and open C:deveconi386 directory for 32 bit windows and C:deviconia64 directory for 64-bit windows.
- Execute the commands mentioned below for each Miniport you have reinstalled. However, do not execute any of them twice nor execute command of Miniport that is already installed, because it will create duplicate miniport and will conflict with the older one that is already installed.
- Do not pay attention to the error “driver install failure” if it occurs. However, check command for typing mistake(s) if you get the error “inf file missing” or “missing class”
- The Commands are given below, copy them and paste in the command window:
• IKEv2:devcon.exe install c:Windowsinfnetavpna.inf MS_AgileVpnMiniport
• IP:devcon.exe install c:Windowsinfnetrasa.inf MS_NdisWanIp
• IPv6:devcon.exe install c:Windowsinfnetrasa.inf MS_NdisWanIpv6
• Network Monitor:devcon.exe install c:Windowsinfnetrasa.inf MS_NdisWanBh
• L2TP:devcon.exe install c:Windowsinfnetrasa.inf MS_L2tpMiniport
• PPPoE:devcon.exe install c:Windowsinfnetrasa.inf MS_PppoeMiniport
• PPTP:devcon.exe install c:Windowsinfnetrasa.inf MS_PptpMiniport
Step 4: Restart your system
