How To Setup Ivacy VPN on Windows 8.1 Manually

Before you begin, please make sure that:
- You have a working internet connection
- A Premium Ivacy VPN account. If you haven’t subscribed yet, click here to subscribe for Ivacy VPN
You can select the respective tab for the desired protocol.
- Open “Network and Sharing Center” by clicking on Networks icon in system tray.
- Now create a new connection.
- Then Connect to a workplace by selecting it and clicking “Next”.
- Connect using Internet connection (VPN).
- In the “Internet address” field, type or paste your desired server name (the list of all server addresses can be found here).
In the “Destination name”, you can type any name like ‘Ivacy PPTP’.
Leave the option “Use a smart card”
Check “Remember my credentials” if it not already selected and allow others to use this connection if you want other users to use it, otherwise leave it unchecked.
Now click “Create”. - After establishing the connection, click “Change adapter settings” in Network and Sharing Center.
- Open Ivacy PPTP properties.
- Go to “Security” tab and select ‘Port to Port Tunneling Protocol (PPTP)’ from “Type of VPN” drop-down menu and select your desired encryption type.
- Now go to “Networking” tab and remove check from “TCP/IPv6” and “File and printer sharing” to enhance security.
- Now connect with “Ivacy PPTP” with ‘username’ and ‘password’ given in the email and enjoy Privacy with Ivacy.
- Open “Network and Sharing Center” by clicking on Networks icon in system tray.
- Now create a new connection.
- Then Connect to a workplace by selecting it and clicking “Next”.
- Connect using Internet connection (VPN).
- In the “Internet address” field, type or paste your desired server name (the list of all server addresses can be found here).
In the “Destination name”, you can type any name like ‘Ivacy L2TP’.
Leave the option “Use a smart card”
Check “Remember my credentials” if it not already selected and allow others to use this connection if you want other users to use it, otherwise leave it unchecked.
Now click “Create”. - After establishing the connection, click “Change adapter settings” in Network and Sharing Center.
- Open Ivacy L2TP properties.
- Go to “Security” tab and select “Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol with IPsec (L2TP/IPsec)” from “Type of VPN” drop-down menu and select your desired encryption type.
- Open “Advanced Settings”.
- Enter ‘12345678’ as “Pre-shared key” and click OK.
- Now go to Networking tab and remove check from “TCP/IPv6” and “File and printing sharing” to enhance security.
- Now connect with “Ivacy PPTP” with ‘username’ and ‘password’ given in the email and enjoy Privacy with Ivacy.
- On your desktop, navigate to the ‘Network’ icon. Right click on it. Click ‘Open Network and Sharing Center’.
- Look out for ‘Change your networking settings’ section. Hit ‘set up a new connection or network’.
- From the ‘Choose a connection option’ window, select ‘Connect to a workplace’. Hit ‘Next’.
- The ‘How do you want to connect’ window will open up. You should select ‘Use my internet connection (VPN)’ option.
- In a new window, you will be required to type the ‘Internet address’ and ‘Destination name’ in the fields provided for the purpose. Insert the server name, for instance ‘usla1.dns2use.com’, in the internet address field (the list of all server addresses can be found here). Insert connection name, for instance ‘Ivacy SSTP’ in destination name field. Also, check the ‘Remember my credentials’ and ‘Allow other people to use this connection’ check-boxes. Leave the other option, unchecked. Click ‘Create’.
- Return to ‘Network Sharing Center’. Hit ‘Change adapter settings’ on the left hand side.
- Right click on the newly created ‘Ivacy SSTP’ icon. Click ‘Properties’.
- Navigate to ‘Security’ tab. You should select ‘Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol (SSTP)’ from the ‘Type of VPN’ dropdown menu.
- From the ‘Data encryption’ dropdown menu, you should select your desired encryption option. Do check the ‘Allow these protocols’ button. Check the ‘Microsoft CHAP Version 2 (MS-CHAP v2)’ checkbox. Click ‘OK’.
- Navigate to ‘Networking’ tab, uncheck ‘Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)’ and ‘File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks’. Click ‘OK’.
- Now double click on ‘Ivacy SSTP’ set up icon.
- On the right hand side, you will see multiple connection icons. Click ‘Ivacy SSTP’ icon. Leave all the other settings as they are.
- Click ‘Connect’.
- Type your ‘username and password’ in the respective fields. Click ‘OK’. Wait for a while, as the system verifies your credentials. That’s it! You are now connected with Ivacy SSTP VPN. Enjoy complete privacy with Ivacy.
Installing IvacyVPN OpenVPN
- First you have to download and install IvacyVPN OpenVPN installer for Windows 8. To download the OpenVPN installer, Click on this link. (Click here to Download File).
- Right click on ‘OpenVPN installer’ icon. Click on ‘Open’ option.
- The ‘OpenVPN Setup Wizard’ window will open up. Hit the ‘Next’ button.
- The ‘Software License’ window will open up. Click on the ‘I Agree’ button.
- The ‘Choose Components’ window will open up. Again click on the ‘Next’ button.
- The ‘Choose Install Location’ window will open up. Click on the ‘Install’ button.
- The ‘Installation Complete’ window will open up. Click on the ‘Next’ button.
- Uncheck the ‘Show Readme’ checkbox. Hit the ‘Finish’ button.
Connecting to IvacyVPN
- Right click on the ‘OpenVPN GUI’ icon and select the ‘Run as Administrator’ option. In case a ‘User Account Control’ dialog box opens up, click the ‘Yes’ button to allow the application to run.
- Navigate to the taskbar of your desktop. Right click on the ‘OpenVPN’ icon. Select the ‘server’ that you desire to use. Select the ‘Connect’ option.
- The ‘User Authentication’ dialog box will open up. Type-in your ‘email’ and ‘password’ in the respective fields. Click on the ‘OK’ button.
- Wait for a while, while your IvacyVPN OpenVPN connection gets established.
- There you go! You are now connected to OpenVPN Ivacy VPN. Enjoy privacy with Ivacy.
Disconnecting OpenVPN
- Right click on the ‘OpenVPN’ icon, present at the taskbar of your system. Go to the ‘connected server’ and select ‘Disconnect’ option.
Saving Account Files
- Go to the system tray and right click on the ‘OpenVPN’ icon. Select the desired ‘server’ that you want to use. Select ‘Edit Config’ option.
- Type ‘pass.conf’ against the ‘auth-user-pass’ parameter. ‘Save’ the file.
- Open ‘Notepad’ file. Type your ‘email’ and ‘password’. ‘Save’ the file as ‘pass.conf’ in a folder.
- Open the ‘folder’ where you have saved the ‘pass.conf’ file. Click on the ‘View’ tab. Check the ‘File name extensions’ checkbox.
- Right click on the ‘pass.conf’ file and rename it. Remove the extension ‘.txt’ from the filename. Hit the ‘Enter’ key.
- The ‘Rename’ dialog box will open up. Hit the ‘Yes’ button.
- Now, open the ‘OpenVPN installation folder’ (C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config). Copy the ‘pass.conf’ file and paste it into the ‘config folder’.
- Click the ‘Continue’ button to copy file.
Your account details have now been saved.Repeat Step 15 and Step 16 to edit all the servers.
- Open “Network and Sharing Center” by clicking on Networks icon in system tray.
- Now create a new connection.
- Then Connect to a workplace by selecting it and clicking “Next”.
- Connect using Internet connection (VPN).
- In the “Internet address” field, type or paste your desired server name (the list of all server addresses can be found here).
In the “Destination name”, you can type any name like ‘Ivacy IKEV’.
Leave the option “Use a smart card”
Check “Remember my credentials” if it not already selected and allow others to use this connection if you want other users to use it, otherwise leave it unchecked.
Now click “Create”. - After establishing the connection, click “Change adapter settings” in Network and Sharing Center.
- Open Ivacy properties.
- Go to “Security” tab and select ‘IKEv2’ from “Type of VPN” drop-down menu and select your desired encryption type.
- Now go to “Networking” tab and remove check from “TCP/IPv6” and “File and printer sharing” to enhance security.
- Now connect with “Ivacy IKEV” with ‘username’ and ‘password’ given in the email and enjoy Privacy with Ivacy.
